The Wrong Response To - Script Drafts

We have each created drafts for scripts and plan to have story boards and a basic animatic by next Monday. Torran has created some character designs which we are going to develop further and include in the story boards. Below are some of the script drafts.

Cave Man Skit Draft2 (Torran)

Collaboration Script Fire 2

Exterior: Cave, evening:

Presenter: The time is 15 million BC and where here to witness the first creation of fire by the uuurg family, lets get a closer look.

presenter stands to the side and the camera zooms in on a caveman family. As they slight a small fire outside. and start to sit around.

Presenter: They've done it now as long as the conditions stay right they should be warm throughout to night.

Rain starts.

Presenter: Ah

Cuts to exterior: Hut Night

Presenter: As you can see they decided to move the fire undercover... wait is that really going to work.

Fire Catches onto the building

Mid-shot of presenter with Benjamin franklin standing in the background with the kite.

Boom mic is lifted into the air too high and gets hit by lightning, the camera falls backwards into a low angle. Benjamin walks into frame.

Eclipse Skit Draft1 (Alex)

EXT. Mayan Temple, Midday

News Reporter stands next to a trio of mayan people, the are huddled in discussion.

N: Good afternoon, it's 1000 b.c. and I'm here with a group that think the have predicted an peculiar event called the "Solar Eclipse", In which the moon will pass in front of the sun and leave us in complete darkness.

The trio nod in excitement. The sun begins to disappear and the group look up shielding their eyes slightly.

N: So, how long will this eclipse last then?

One member if the group looks up with a panicked look

M: Oh well... we hadn't really thought about that.

The group are now in darkness and all that can be seen are their eyes. The trio blink for a moment. Then they begin to panic, running around and smashing into things. Suddenly the light from the sun appears. Two of the trio are hugging each other tightly screaming, they open their eyes and quickly jump apart, one pushes the other and brushes their clothes off. The third of the trio can be seen shaking in fear on the ground. They also open their eyes jump up and laugh.

M: Ah see nothing to worry about.

News reporter looks to the camera and sighs.

Space Skit Draft1 (Brooke)

I have chosen to take the space portion of our script, main reason for this is making it a little easier to research as I'm already deep in space research for my Character Design project 'The Astronut', the work just needs to be adapted and made comedic.

the first draft is below, its got the basic gist of what I wanted to get.

Start

Sign saying connecting with a satellite image and ellipse, like a typical loading screen.
We come back in to see 2 astronauts in chairs and the reporter behind them.

A very simplified version of Apollo cartoony if possible

We see the reporter with visual clues from the other scenarios, he’s a little tired and visible worn out

R ‘Today is the twentieth of July 1969, I am with Neil and Edwin... Today we have been uh’

He looks out the window, there is nothing but stars but where the camera is fixed we cannot see that

R ‘Ummm Launched into space?’

The astronauts nod

R ‘Oh I remember we’re going to the moon, one small step for man and so on’

Neil looks around and cocks his head as if he’s never heard that before, deciding to steal it for later.

The reporter sighs

R ‘Its been a long day, at least this view is nice’

E ‘oh it sure is, I want to get a closer look’

He heads for the door

R ‘nooo’

Static ‘disconnected attempting reconnection’ on screen

It reconnects we now see a scene of chaos

Both astronauts are fighting and the reporter just in foetal position, All are floating around

The screen disconnects again and the screen fades to black.
